I didn't write much on this topic yesterday so I wanted to come back to make a few points. Please see original version of this post then read this one.

First, let's go over who Brian R is. As I stated in a previous post (http://www.elvismcneely.com/blog/google-awords-update) Brian R is a 2nd tier supervisor in the Google Adwords department. About six weeks back Jen, an Adwords Rep, and I talked about my CameraPrices.com site and asked why it was being docked for bad landing page quality. That conversation led to a site review request.

After Jen came back and noted that the site review came back the same, I suggested she read the Google Letter (http://www.elvismcneely.com/blog/letter-to-google-adwords)and to have Guyer, the supervisor of Adwords Reps, and his supervisor, Brian R, read it as well.

About a week later Brian R called and we went over several things. Initially, he mentioned that CameraPrices didn't look like a MFA site by glancing over the pages. I mentioned that CameraPrices.com is not a MFA because the site is actually penalized (bad landing page quality) on a domain basis, which seems to be the case for MFA sites. Once we got passed that and we mentioned other problems with Ads-bot and other Google ip's visiting CameraPrices.com on old url's, he concluded he needed to talk to a group (technical team) within Adwords who understood the algorithm.

After our conversation, I emailed Brian R the original document of the Google letter, as the online post omits the urls and business that were addressed. Within the email I asked him to ask the technical team (who understands the algo better) to take a look at the CameraPrices.com domain and see where the majority of the sitewide low score is coming from.

Back to our conversation from a few days ago, I had to call the Adwords team and request Brian R contact me back concerning the things we spoke about previously. He did call later that day. He had forgotten to address some things with the technical team and get more feedback on the site review from the human evaluator team. This time around I explained to him I really don't want to initiate my plan of action (against Google) but will if Google continues to penalize useful websites and not those that aren’t. My main beef is that Google allows big spenders to advertise even if the site is not useful. I explained this to Brian R and he understands completely where I am coming from.

Google is not supposed to have favors, regardless of what you spend a month on your budget, who your are, or how many page views and Adsense you bring in. We are all to be treated equal. Because of my experience, and others, I can say that Google Adwords is not treating my competitors the same. If CameraPrices.com gets a bad score so should they, because we all our using the same partnership which means our sites have the same product content.

So I am going to give Brian R and his staff one more shot to rectify this before I start calling the business magazines and issuing press releases on the Google lies. My deadline is set for October 20th midnight. From then on I will initiate my plan in full force.
