I just wanted to share with the online world another testimony that God answers prayer! Ok, so here is what happened.
Last Wednesday I was sitting at the table talking with my wife. Suddenly the left middle outside area of my back began hurting, pretty intense pain. I shifted my position thinking I was sitting wrong. The pain subsided a bit.
Later in the day it began hurting more, this time, I noticed I found it hard to breathe at times. Ok, I thought, I must have slept wrong or something. I didn't take any medicine, just continued my day. That night I didn't sleep well as it was hard to get comfortable. I didn’t feel refreshed in the morning. The following day, the pain occurred more and was more intense at times. On my scale of pain from one to ten it was now around 7 and sometimes 8. I decided to take Tylenol but it didn't take the pain away.
That night (Thursday) I didn't sleep well again. While I was trying to fall asleep I noticed my toes twitched a bit, probably from being restless. The next day, I was concerned as the weekend was coming up and it is expensive to see doctors on Saturday. So I called my doc and his nurse asked if I took Ibuprofen yet. I said no and doubted it would help. She scheduled me in for that day and told to take some Ibuprofen.
To my surprise the Ibuprofen did help with the pain but only for two hours or more. That was with 3 tablets instead of two. Well, that day in the doc's office he examined me then had me do a urine test for kidney stones. All come back ok so he said it must be a bad muscle pull. Hmm, I thought, I have pulled muscles in my back before and nothing like this ever came about. Ok, so he gave some medicine and I went home.
I began taking the medicine but, it made me extremely tired. I was sleeping more than staying awake it seemed. So I decided to just stick to Ibuprofen and take Tylenol with it. Saturday was a bit better than the previous days but I was still concerned as this did not seem like a muscle pull.
I had been praying for a few days that God would relieve this from me but, at the same time I figured it would resolve on its own. So maybe, I was not really trusting Him to resolve this. Come Sunday morning, we had communion and the pain was acting up. I took some Ibuprofen and Tylenol. About 15 minutes later the Pastor asked during prayer if someone was in need of healing to not be afraid to ask while praying. So, I prayed and said something like "God, I know you can remove this pain. I am concerned about it and just ask that you would take care of it. I put this in your hands".
15 minutes later I started to feel better but I thought it was the medicine I took so I didn't think much of it. I told myself that in a few hours if things are still feeling good I might reconsider that it was God after all. At the end of the night I was a little excited but said, ah, let's just wait until the morning because the night times were bad and in the mornings I would experience pain.
The following morning the pain was not there. So, I thought I will wait a few more hours just to see if it comes back later on. By this point I was getting excited because I was starting to believe that indeed the Lord of the universe decided to heal my back pain. Later that day I had some minor discomfort but nothing compared to or what would be called "pain". Since then things have been normal and I have been questioning myself why God chooses to heal this problem and not the other ones, like my type 1 diabetes. I am sure He has a good reason and chances are it is not just one reason but many beyond my understanding.
I always knew God heals folks but I can’t recall that He has done that for me. I am not talking about colds or headaches, things that we know are temporary. I say “temporary†because the back spasms and pulled back muscles I had in the past didn’t go away suddenly. They took time to heal like weeks and even after a few weeks a little something could make the spasms come back. This time around, the pain was removed. And so far, 3 days later, no pain to report. Can I get an Amen?!!!
