Drupal.org username change, mcneelycorp is now elvis2

I am just reaching out to the Drupal community to let those who knew me by mcneelycorp, that I am now elvis2. I wish there were a more formal way of announcing this, like through sticky signatures.

Why the name change?

  • From a community perspective, mcneelycorp is not really easy to remember (there are lots of ways to spell mcneely: macnealy, mcneeley, mcneelly etc), compared to say "elvis" or "elvis2". elvis was my first choice, but it seems /user/3005 has abandoned the account, and never added any content to drupa.org, according to track. Too bad we can't claim abandoned accounts... Me oh my, if the powers that be, could remove users in such instances...
  • When I first joined Drupal, my company name was McNeely Corp. The McNeely Corp business name was a name chosen due to lack of creativity and direction - to be honest :)

Recently I have closed down McNeely Corp (an s-corp entity) and will be moving to an LLC entity. In the meantime, I am offering consulting and Drupal services as a freelancer.

Drupal.org community, if there is a more formal way of doing this, could you point me in the right direction? I did a general search and then seached in the handbooks specifically for any suggestions. I am more concerned that past users who I interacted with in the Drupal forums irc, maillist etc, might be confused....

I did it simply by putting my old user name in my signature. I let it stay for about a year before removing it,

Well, I actually put 'Previously user (my previous user name)' in the signature.

I think adding your older username to your signature and your profile page would have been just fine, not a post announcing it to the Drupal Planet aggregator.

The signature suggestions above are fine. And, I did do that. But, the signature is from this day forward. It doesn't change posts from the past. That is why I used the term "sticky signature" above.
