Brasil, Brazil, Brrasil!
As you guessed it from the title, this post is about our Brazil trip.
We headed out of the States on the 9th of this month for Campo Grande, Brasil. We are staying with my wife's parents this time around. The weather her has been great! Some days hotter than others, hotter than I prefer but it has been enjoyable so far.
A few things I noticed this time around, things are a bit more expensive here than what they were in the past. Food items and restaurant prices used to be less allowing more eating out. But the better food is at home in the kitchen. You would think one would gain weight with eating such good food but I have lost 3lbs in a week. Hopefully by the end of the vacation I will have lost 10lbs, that would be awesome.
My daughter is learning Portuguese much quicker than she does on the home front. I am happy to see her speaking bigger phrases now and communicating with others around her. Her shy mode might be slipping away slowly, which we are happy to see. One thing that surprised me about my daughter's languages, she wants to learn words in English. When reading to her we normally read in Portuguese, although her books are in English. The last few nights she has been asking me for the words in English, which I thought would be the opposite, since she is submerged in Portuguese. I guess she realizes there are other ways to say something in another language.
That is all for now, need to relax and digest this stroganoff we had for lunch.
