Hats off to the New Orleans Saints football team for a nice win today. I am glad to see the dome rebuilt - so the city can build it's reveneu to build up the arears that need it most. I saw one woman interviewed who disagreed with the money used to rebuild the dome when it could be spent to build her house and others. I know it is hard to grasp in times like that (without a house - income) but for the city's sake and long term attraction, you need businesses so people can spend money and in turn the city build a cash flow. My heart goes out to the needy and hope they will find the strength to get through their difficulties.
Today I spent some time investigating a job offer. Currently our income needs a boost to keep the bills paid so I have been monitoring job offers that would allow me to work from home and still care for my daughter. This one particular offer seemed legit and the business owner left his phone number in the bottom of the ad. Turns out they wanted me to sell prepaid legal services and to get more people on board to do the same thing. There is a word for this type of job, network marketing or MLM (multi level marketing). In all I think it is a good program and has potential to easily build up your network.
The down side is the prepaid legal services aren't as good as they first sound. You pay a monthly rate ($14 bucks or so) and at any moment you can call your assigned lawyer and he/she will give consulting and write a letter if needed. But, what the company doesn't announce is that if things don't get settled within that one attempt by the lawyer, then you are charged the normal fees from that lawyer/firm.
I can't sell a product that sounds so great (and cheap) knowing that it may not be what they think it is. As a consumer they should know to ask a lot of questions but I imagine not enough people ask the right ones.
