I am pleased to hear that some democrat congress members are beginning  to use sound logic when mulling over the HR 3200 health care reform bill. I am mostly pleased with Sen. Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas who recently said she opposes the public option in its current form because it's too expensive. I hope folks in Arkansas are proud Mrs. Lincoln represents them, and not some grand ideas or a temporary administration, but Americans and our future.

Here are other democrats who oppose the bill as well:

Rep. Tom Perriello [D, VA-5], Rep. Bobby Bright [D, AL-2], Rep. Jane Harman [D, CA-36], Rep. Dennis Kucinich [D, OH-10]

I want to applaud them for having the courage to stand up for their constituents and against their own party. Most Americans believe we need health care reform, but at what costs? And Americans should not be forced to pay for something they don't want it, nor should we be forced to pay for someone else's health care.

You know, there is another solution for health care reform. Make healthcare more like a utility that government regulates. Switzerland uses this model and it works quite well for them. Why aren’t our representatives looking at all options? During an interview back in late June or July, Polesi said that "all options are on the table", if so, then why not explore the Switzerland model? As far as I know this model hasn't even been discussed openly.

I would imagine the sheer costs alone, referring to the CBO report, should force congress to rethink up other solutions instead of ramming a bill through that we can’t afford.

I disapprove of any Health Care Bill where Government is allowed to interfere with the Private Option. There is plenty of was to reform Health Care without Government Takeover. Texas and California have provided Tort Reform, as for Massachusetts...what sort of example is that as a successful universal healthcare? Susan Tenofsky Andover, MA

Thank you for your comment. I agree 100%. Unfortunately the majority of the democratic party could care less about a "private" option. But, their downside is costs. Democrats are starting to have a hard time to justify costs. Hopefully, they will look their children in the eye and really ask, "Is this the best we can do with health care reform for your and your kids?".

Yes, tort reform should be looked at closely and also fraudulent users. I heard a stat that $100 million of fraud is being committed (Medicare) every 12 hours. That is crazy.

I strongly disapprove of any Government run health care system. I am appauled that our Government is ignoring the voice of the people and pushing this forward.

My hope is at the very least Congress will slow this train down and start rethinking this. Once a bill is passed it will be difficult to remove it 5 years down the road.

I have written my reps and asked them to consider adding an "exit strategy". The government wants to run this much like a busienss, then they need an exit strategy, something that projects our children and grandchildren from becoming slaves to heavy tax burdens.
