Google Awords update

Today I received a phone call from Brian, a supervisor from Google Adwords, and we talked (for 48 minutes) in depth of the landing page quality issue with Camera Prices and how I felt about these issues. Brian is a second tier supervisor I guess. Guyer, who I spoke with first, is the supervisor of Adwords reps. Brian is Guyer's supervisor, if I understood correctly. Brian was very patient with me as I explained my point of view and how another specific site should be docked for lower quality as well.

Google Lies

Here is the letter I wrote to Google Adwords team September 17th, 2006. I mentioned a few days ago I would post this. It is lengthy (4 pages in Word), so grab a cup of tea and enjoy reading it. All the example domains/site names have been removed for privacy reasons. I would love some feedback on this post and to know if you are a victim to a google lie too.

Day recap / job hunt

Hats off to the New Orleans Saints football team for a nice win today. I am glad to see the dome rebuilt - so the city can build it's reveneu to build up the arears that need it most. I saw one woman interviewed who disagreed with the money used to rebuild the dome when it could be spent to build her house and others. I know it is hard to grasp in times like that (without a house - income) but for the city's sake and long term attraction, you need businesses so people can spend money and in turn the city build a cash flow. My heart goes out to the needy and hope they will find the strength to get through their difficulties.

Letter to Google Adwords

Well, as I wrote yesterday, I mentioned that I would be writing on a company who I have lost trust in. As you can see from this title it is rather a large company. Why have I lost trust in Google? In a nutshell, Google lied. Google lied to me personally, and after much research, has lied to many many people and chances are too everyone who uses Google’s search engine.

One of my sites, Camera Prices, I use Google Adwords to drive traffic. This particular site I have invested a large amount of time and money; I am building it up for the long run so in a few years it will make a decent stream of revenue for my family. Google Adwords in the past worked well for CameraPrices and even though there are some stiff competitors I was managing Adwords ads to the point where I was making a decent ROI.

Little Katrina & Stela

Yesterday we went to Katrina's birthday. Katrina is a friend of Stela. It was a nice time; food, nice people, and lots of kids running around. I got to talk to an old friend I haven't seen in several years, Carla. She is a funny person.

Stela had a good time playing with the other kids and Katrina's toys too. It is good to see her start to interact with other kids.

It seems my wife liked the party as well. There were several people there speaking Portuguse, her native language. She doesn't get to do that too often within a group.

New look

It's time for a new look - for a new season in life. So here is the first post for the new look. In a few days I will begin porting my old posts to this site which is now using Drupal.

There are will be some interesting things to come on this blogging site that many of you might value. My posts will be focused on family and friends but I will also write about business matters - which consumes a great deal of my life.
