After 62 emails & 3 weeks - it is finis...

It is hard to believe that 62 emails were involved in building a drupal based website for my first client. I have built drupal sites in the past but only for myself. This 1st client is a photographer in Ireland and wanted a site for his clients to login and see their images he took for them. And for the client only to see his/her images.

The second important thing was to have a public gallery that is accessible from non logged in user and for logged in users. That may seem like a easy task but when using the Tac Lite module things can get a little harry because each user and role has some form of permissions that has to be defined. And, it has to be organized and simplified for the client as well – to not be confusing when adding a new client.

Google Awords Update 2

I didn't write much on this topic yesterday so I wanted to come back to make a few points. Please see original version of this post then read this one.

First, let's go over who Brian R is. As I stated in a previous post (http://www.elvismcneely.com/blog/google-awords-update) Brian R is a 2nd tier supervisor in the Google Adwords department. About six weeks back Jen, an Adwords Rep, and I talked about my CameraPrices.com site and asked why it was being docked for bad landing page quality. That conversation led to a site review request.

Who is wearing your crown?

From time to time I will be in a deep thought and see some form of vision. This can happen when thinking about a friend, business, or spiritual things. Vision may not be the right word, but what I see is like a video played before my eyes which I do nothing to turn it on.

Yesterday while singing a song about “crowning Him” during church service, this vision thing happened. I saw all these people, men and women, walking around with crowns on their heads. The song was talking about when we meet Jesus in heaven we will be crowning him with many crowns. What that exactly means I can’t say but I do know that if he truly is the King of kings (King of justice, love, common rule, the universe etc) then he will be honored with all types of crowns.

Good story on how to make a company heel to...

My wife shared a story the other day with me that I thought was worth blogging about. She heard this story on a radio program. This is a true story, it just goes to show you that companies are willing to cheat people on all levels, but in the end we are still empowered to make companies heel.

A man received some form of service for his car from a car dealership. Apparently the man paid his bill in full for the service, but the car dealership kept sending him a bill. The man took every opportunity to tell the dealership they made an accounting mistake and to resolve this matter promptly. He did this by calling the dealership on a number of occasions. He also wrote letters. Apparently he kept track of the dates / times he made these attempts.
