I am glad to hear the leader of Al-Qaida has been captured. For some months now I have doubted this war will do any good. But, no matter how you look at it, we are combating evil. I know many people don’t agree with that. If there is any good in this Iraqi war it is that the world (we are not in this war alone) can’t afford to tolerate evil. The costs and stakes are high, an unfortunate price to keep some sort of balance, justice, fairness, human equality in this world.
As much as I want the US to get out of this war, to prevent more deaths for our men and women, protect the innocent in Iraq, and end the billions in spending we are racking up, I want more than anything to end this war on a global note; we (the globe) stand united and won’t allow evil to dictate our lives.
Some call this war political - some call say we are hypocrites. I say it is no different from you sending your child to school knowing the bully around the corner is going to push your child around today - again. No loving parent would do that. We want our children to be able to handle problems with dignity but to know when to draw the line and stand up for what is good – to not allow evil.
A special thanks to all the men and women, from all countries, who daily are fighting a battle for our children (and grandchildren) sake; moving a bit at a time to wash out modern day evil. May He be your source of strength when you wake and when you lie down. When you battle, cry, laugh, ache.
Isaiah 40:30-31 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
