Well it seems my candidate has a losing battle ahead of him. Last report I heard McCain needs 57 delegates to clinch the nomination. I saw McCain’s interview last night on Larry King Live, a more friendlier McCain was on my TV compared to previously. That still doesn't change my stance on him being a war monger, nor how I feel about his understanding of our economy.
I figured Romney would pass his delegates on to McCain, simply for the chance of being the running mate and to show the republican party he has no interest in dividing the party. I feel this move though was really for his interest in 2012. Only time will tell.
I am subscribed to the email list for Huckabee supporters in Indiana. I read on email mentioning that McCain could still stay in the race if he decided to switch to being an Independent. McCain would be the Republican nominee and Huckabee would be the Independent nominee. I am not sure if Huckabee could even do that but it is an idea, to allow all voters have their chance of voting, which is important to Huckabee. I agree, it is important and the way the US elects a president is not fair one bit, especially when it comes to super delegates.
I doubt that Huckabee would switch to Independent, unless he is confidant he could pull republican supporters his way. It would be interesting to see the outcome of that kind of situation.
For now, I guess the fairtax plan is out the window. I have high hopes that plan could get the US out of the bad spot we are in economically and put Americans on the path to spending less and focus on saving.
Are we on the path of saying goodbye to Huckabee? If so, will he run again in 2012? I hope he does! At the very least Americans were more exposed to the fairtax plan. Even though most of us don't understand it, I hope we are intrigued to learn more about it and write our congressman and senate to get them involved on some level or another.
